From October 8 to 10, traffic on roads leading from Sughd and Khatlon provinces to Dushanbe will be temporarily restricted due to high-level events and the arrival of foreign delegations in the capital.

The Branch of Innovative Road Solutions (IRS) in Tajikistan, which operates the toll on the Dushanbe-Chanak highway, says while the highway will remain open in general, traffic may be suspended intermittently depending on the situation.  Drivers are being advised to plan their routes in advance to avoid delays or inconvenience.

The Khatlon Regional Police Department has also issued a warning, urging residents to avoid non-essential travel to Dushanbe between October 8 and 12.

“If the trip is not urgent, vehicles heading toward Dushanbe will be turned back at traffic patrol checkpoints,” said officials from the province police department.

These measures are intended to ensure security and public order during the upcoming official events.

On October 10, Dushanbe will host the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) summit, and on October 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to arrive in Tajikistan for a state visit.

Due to these events, traffic within Dushanbe will also be subject to temporary restrictions along routes used by delegations.

The city’s police department is strongly advising residents to use public transportation and avoid parking along protocol routes to allow for the free movement of official convoys and municipal vehicles.

Authorities have not released the exact timing or list of streets affected by the closures.
