Tajikistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin held meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Finland and Hungary in Vienna during the 32nd meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council.

 

Meeting with the Finnish Foreign Minister

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, during his meeting with Elina Valtonen, the Finnish Foreign Minister, they discussed the bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Finland, as well as regional cooperation. Special attention was given to the situation in Afghanistan and ensuring security within the OSCE region.

The ministers exchanged views on several other topics of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two countries on the international stage.

 

Meeting with the Hungarian Foreign Minister

On the sidelines of the OSCE meeting in Vienna, Sirojiddin Muhriddin also met with Peter Szijjarto, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. During the discussions, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Hungary in political, economic, and trade sectors, as well as in education.

They also discussed interactions with the European Union, multilateral relations within international organizations, and other mutual interests, including the situation in Afghanistan.

 

Speech at the OSCE meeting

On December 4, during his speech at the OSCE Ministerial Council, Sirojiddin Muhriddin outlined Tajikistan's priorities in the military-political, economic-environmental, and humanitarian dimensions of OSCE cooperation. He referred to the incidents that occurred last week on the Afghan border and called for further expansion of cooperation among OSCE member states to effectively address the key challenges of the modern world.
