DUSHANBE, February 22, Asia-Plus — Officers of the Russian Operational group staying in Tajikistan have conducted a three-week training on educational work for officers of the Dushanbe border garrison and border units stationed in the districts subordinate to the center.  . 

According to information from the Committee for Protection of the State Border of Tajikistan, the main objective of the training was in raising professionalism of Tajik border officers responsible for education of personnel.  The Russian military advisers instructed the Tajik border troops in how to organize educational work in the units.  The training focused on the issues related to resolving the problem of “dedovshchina,” the often brutal hazing of new recruits by older soldiers, in the border units.  

 “In near future, such training will be conducted in other regions of the country as well,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.
