Kyrgyz presidential secretariat offers to postpone amendments to NCO bill

The Kyrgyz presidential secretariat offers to postpone approval of amendments to the bill on Noncommercial Organizations.

The statement released by the secretariat today says that “any noncommercial organization on Kyrgyz territory should be controlled by the government. Community has a right to know what NCOs spend their money for. Their activity, including financial side of it, should be clean and transparent,” the secretariat assumes.

However the bill requires a follow-up revision as it may seriously damage Kyrgyzstan’s image on the international arena. The proposed amendments should be reconsidered as it may fire up conflicts and disputes in the society.

The amendments to the bill on noncommercial organizations were initiated by the communist party of parliament headed by Iskhak Masaliev.
