, March 28, Asia-Plus – On March 27, President Emomali Rahmonov presided over a working meeting with Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, Deputy Prime Minister Khayrinisso Mavlonova and heads of ministries and organizations.
According to presidential press service, the meeting focused on the spring sowing campaign and the construction of the infrastructure facilities in the republic.
Participants in the meeting discussed issues related to development of gardening, viticulture and bee-keeping.
On the construction of the infrastructure facilities in the country, the president pointed to the necessity of putting all these facilities into operation by the dates fixed. He, in particular, ordered to put the Anzob tunnel into operation by June 15.
As it had been reported earlier, after twenty months of excavation works the Anzob tunnel linking the
northern province
of Sughd with the central part of
Tajikistan
was dug through a mountain on March 23.
Once the Anzob tunnel becomes operational, it will not only facilitate transportation and direct north-south transit within
Tajikistan
in the winter season but also drop the transit time by four to five hours.
