Uzbekistan has so far handed over no criminal involved in 1998 failed attack on Sughd province: Tajik chief prosecutor

have been committed by their follow-countrymen,


Tajikistan


’s Prosecutor-General Bobojon Bobokhonov announced at a news conference in


Dushanbe


on April 17.  

According to him, Tajik Prosecutor-General’s Office has constant contacts with its Russian counterparts on each criminal proceedings instituted on such cases.  

Bobokhonov also highly appraised cooperation with Russian Prosecutor-General’s Office in detaining persons having committed crimes on the territories of


Tajikistan


and


Russia


.  

On the cooperation with prosecutor’s offices from other member nations of the CIS, Tajik chief prosecutor noted that it was still at low level and left much to be desired.  “Thus, Uzbekistan has so far handed over no criminal involved in a failed attack on the Tajik northern province of Sughd in 1998,” Bobokhonov said, adding that Tajikistan has to date put names of some 1,000 people on a list of internationally wanted criminals.
