, April 24, Asia-Plus – The second meeting of the Coordinating Committee for Prevention of Drug Abuse in
Tajikistan
was held in
Dushanbe
on April 21.
According to information from the Drug Control Agency’s (DCA) press service, the meeting considered activities of a number of committee and organizations dealing with prevention of drug addiction in
Tajikistan
.
The meeting endorsed a plan of actions of the Coordinating Committee on preventing drug addiction designed for 2006. During the meeting it was also decided to hold the next meeting with participation of international organizations active in
Tajikistan
.
The Coordinating for Prevention of Drug Abuse in
Tajikistan
was established on
April 3 2004
.
According to figures provided by the Ministry of Health, 7,576 drug addicts were registered with in
Tajikistan
in 2005, which is 301 people more compared to 2004.
