DUSHANBE, November 11, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Tajik Defense Minister Sherali Khairulloyev and Indian Army Chief Vijay Kumar Singh have agreed that Tajik nationals studying at defense training institutes in India will get standard diplomas, the head of Tajikistan’s Defense Ministry’s Department for International Military Cooperation Marouf Hasanov told Asia-Plus Thursday afternoon.

Before this, Tajik military cadets had got certificates on graduation from Indian military schools, Hasanov said.  According to him, 35 Tajik military cadets are currently studying at defense training institutes in India.  “They are studying various military discipline but mostly they are trained to be platoon commander,” Hasanov said.

Besides, a large number of Tajik young officers also undergo training course at various defense training institutes in India.
