QURGHON TEPPA, November 5, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A new Khatlon regional tuberculosis hospital with 60 beds will be built in the Havaskor jamoat, Vakhsh district, the Khatlon TB Prevention Center Suhrob Kamolov said.

According to him, Khatlon governor Ghaybullo Afzalov has already signed a decision on allotment of 1.2 hectares for construction of the regional TB hospital in Havaskor.

“The construction work is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2011 and the project will be supported by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis ad Malaria; 1.2 million U.S. dollars will be provided for this purpose,” Kamolov said, adding that nineteen hospitals now provide medical treatment to 1,030 TB sufferers in the province.
