Bank account for Roghun’s construction receives 14.36 mln somoni from fees for car window tinting permits

DUSHANBE, November 5, 2010, Asia-Plus  — More than 6,300 car owners have paid a total of 14.36 million somoni of fees for car window tinting permits through Tajikistan’s savings bank, Amonatbonk, since the beginning of this year.

The source at Amonatbonk says these funds have been remitted to a special bank account opened by the treasury department of the Ministry of Finance at Amonatbonk to support Roghun’s construction.

We will recall that amendments allowing tints to car windows took affect on January 1, 2010.  Under the state standards of Tajikistan, at least 75 per cent of light must pass through the driver’s side windows and vehicles may have tint on the windshield as dark as 25 percent, windows to the immediate left and right of the driver — 30 percent, and rear windows – 30.  Car owner who what to have other car glass tint parameters have to pay 2,200 somoni (more than US$500.00) per year.

Those who break the car window tinting standards without special permission will have to pay a fine of 4,375 somoni.
