DUSHANBE, September 29, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A there-day workshop of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Administration of the CIS Nations is opening in Dushanbe today.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Tajik Minister of Transport and Communications Olim Boboyev and Head of the Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Council of Road Administration of the CIS Nations Buri Karimov will deliver statements at the workshop.

The meeting is expected to consider  issues related to introduction of new technologies in Tajikistan’s road sector, the source said

Established in 1992, the Intergovernmental Council of Road Administration of the CIS Nations was granted the intergovernmental status in 1998.  The council is dedicated to coordinate the road administration issues within the CIS area.  It, in particular, promotes expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation and coordinates activities on designing, building, rehabilitating and maintaining roads.
