CSTO experts consider ways to improve crisis response system

DUSHANBE, September 28, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Four-day consultations of experts from member nations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on raising efficiency of the crisis response system and improving legal foundations of the Organization kicked off in Moscow on September 28.

According to press release issued by the CSTO Secretariat, the meeting participants are discussing amendments proposed to the CSTO Charter, Collective Security Treaty, Provisions on CSTO Bodies, CSTO Bodies Procedure Rules, Provisions on the CSTO Budget and other constituent documents of the Organization.

The amendments are made in accordance with agreements reached during an informal meeting of the presidents of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan that took place in Yerevan, Armenia on August 20, the Secretariat said.
