DUSHANBE, August 5, 2010, Asia-Plus – Moscow law enforcement authorities have instituted criminal proceedings against ex-officer of the Tajik Ministry of Interior, who is suspected of giving a US$50,000 bribe, Russia’s RIA Novosti reported on August 4, referring to Sergey Marchenko, official representative of the Investigation Committee at the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Marchenko, criminal proceedings have been instituted against ex-officer of the Tajik Interior Ministry, Fayzeboy (phonetically spelled) Abdullayev under the provisions of article 30 (3) and Article 291 (2) of Russia’s Penal Code – bribe attempt.
Abdullayev is suspected of attempting to give a US$50,000 bribe for releasing his acquaintance and dropping criminal proceedings instituted against him, RIA Novosti reported.
