Dushanbe. June 18. “Asia – Plus” — Those events that are taking place in south of Kyrgyzstan are of wide-scale and unprecedented character and are notable for brutality and are evaluated by many observers as massacre, ethnic purge and genocide, Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Dushanbe has quoted First Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov as saying at briefing for representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations, foreign and local media in Tashkent on June 15.

“Brutality in southern regions of Kyrgyzstan against Uzbek community is confirmed by representatives of such international organizations as UNICEF, WHO, ICRC, who witnessed the massacre,” he said.

According to Kamilov, mass bloodshed has a clear organized character and this fact is also confirmed by the provisional government of Kyrgyzstan.

“With that said, Kyrgyz provisional government shows complete feebleness. There is no doubt that some third forces are involved in these events in Kyrgyzstan and this can be proved by the great amount of weapon, contract gunmen and professional snipers. They are using specific bullets which allow to fire houses from the distance,” he said.

Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that the number of refugees has exceeded 75,000 people. “The Government of Uzbekistan is providing related relief assistance. Relief assistance worth more than 1,5 billion Soms was provided in the first three days. Uzbekistan continues to provide relief assistance to refugees but the number continues to grow. Taking into account some serious difficulties, Uzbekistan urged the UN Secretary General and other international organizations to provide additional humanitarian aid,” he said.

Kamilov believes that humanitarian aid which is provided by international organizations mainly remains in Bishkek.
