DUSHANBE, May 14, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A mudflow that hit the village of Lolagi in the Fayzobod district, some 50 kilometers east of Dushanbe, yesterday killed the 10-year-old Rahmonali Nazarliyev, Doustmurod Zabirv, a spokesman for the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES), told Asia-Plus today.

According to him, heavy rains on May 13 caused flood that affected a number residential buildings in Fayzobod.  A commission has been set up to assess the damage volumes

Yesterday’s torrential rain caused damage to the Roudaki district, some 17 kilometers south of Dushanbe, as well.  “In the village of Teppasavkhoz, a mudflow caused by heavy rains partially damaged several houses,” said the spokesman, “No injured was reported.  People were evacuated to safer places.”
