, February 13, Asia-Plus – A Tajik energy delegation intends to pay a seven-day working visit to
China
from February 16-23.
According to information from Tajik Ministry of Energy, the main purpose of the visit is for the delegation members to familiarize themselves with activity of
China
’s state-run concerns producing energy equipment.
During stay in
China
senior Tajik energy also will discuss issues related to bilateral cooperation between
Tajikistan
and
China
in enhancement of Tajik energy sector, including modernization of the Qairoqqum hydropower plant in northern
Tajikistan
.
“The sides also plan to negotiate the possibility of
China
’s participation in the construction of the Shuroobod hydroelectric power station on the
Panj
River
in Khatlon province,” the Energy Ministry source said.
