KHUJAND, February 16, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A 31-year-old teacher with School # 1 in Sughd’s Asht district, Bakhtiyor Sohibov, was detained at the end of last week on suspicion of having been involved in trafficking in psychotropic substances, according to the Sughd police directorate.

When searching his car, local police officers founded 300 capsules of phenobarbital and 250 capsules of phenozepam that are referred to the psychotropic substances.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Sohibov under the provisions of Article 200 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – trafficking in narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors, and an investigation is under way.
