QURGHON TEPPA, March 1, 2010, Asia-Plus — Qalandar Sadruddinov, the head of the organization of the Islamic Revival Party (IRPT) for Khatlon province, has expressed dissatisfaction with the voting process in the area.
He told Asia-Plus today that the IRPT observers registered numerous violations almost at all polling stations in the province during election day, especially by the end of election day.
“At 7:00 pm., with one hour of voting remaining, our observers were asked to leave polling stations,” said Sadruddinov, “The IRPT observers were also not allowed attending vote counting that is also gross violation of the election laws.”
He added that this year’s parliamentary elections were much worse than the 2000 and 2005 parliamentary elections. “According to our preliminary count, our party won some 30 percent of votes in the Bokhtar district.”
