DUSHANBE, December 24, 2009, Asia-Plus — Tajik traffic police have found 11 of 13 cars hijacked from Kazakhstan to Tajikistan, Mahmadali Zaydulloyev, the deputy chief of the Tajik traffic police directorate, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, among them are not only prestigious off-highway vehicles such as Toyota and Lexus but also Nexia and Opel.
“In this connection, a group of Kazakh law enforcement officers have arrived in Tajikistan,” said Zaydulloyev, “They are currently in Khujand, Sughd province where one of the hijacked vehicles was found. Investigation is under way.”
In all, 43 cars hijacked from Kazakhstan are currently internationally wanted, according to the traffic police directorate.
