KHUJAND, December 24, 2009, Asia-Plus — Museum of age-old printing presses will be established at Sughd’s oldest printing house in Khujand.
The head of the Sughd printing houses directorate, Hofiz Sayfulloyev, told Asia-Plus that the printing house employees had preserved the age-old printing presses; moreover, they are still operational.
“These several manned printing presses, perforator and hand-cutting burner had been manufactured in Russia and Germany,” Sayfulloyev noted.
This printing house was established in Khujand in 1929 already. It was placed in the building that was constructed in 1892 and called “office.” The Khujand district (when it was part of the Tsarist Russia) administration, barrack and stable had been placed in this building.
