QURGHON TEPPA, November 14 2009, Asia-Plus — 304 convicts have been freed in the Khatlon province under the latest amnesty so far, Yusufkhon Huseinov, an official with the Khatlon prosecutor’s office, told Asia-Plus on November 14.
According to him, 100 prisoners have released from the Jilikul penal colony and 204 others have been released from the Yovon penal colony.
“37 other prisoners are expected be released from the Qurghon Teppa penal colony within the next few days,” Huseinov said.
We will recall that President Emomali Rahmon in early October signed a decree that grants amnesty to an estimated 10,000 prisoners.
