DUSHANBE, November 10, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A roundtable meeting to discuss issues to support HIV/AIDS prevention among labor migrants from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan was held in Dushanbe on November 10.

Organized by the Center for Mental Health and HIV/AIDS as well as the public associations Rukhafzo and Ghamkhori under financial support of Act Central Asia, the meeting brought together representatives from the ministries of interior and labor of Tajikistan as well as international organizations to discuss ways of raising HIV/AIDS awareness among labor migrants.

During the meeting, it was noted that Rukhafzo and Ghamkhori would organize various training seminars for returning labor migrants in the Muminobod and Jomi district (Khatlon province) on the issues related to raising AIDS awareness, reducing drug abuse and decreasing stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.
