Emergency situations caused by heavy rains and strong winds were registered in a number of cities and regions of Tajikistan from May 28 to May 30. This was reported by the Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan.
The most serious consequences of the bad weather were recorded in Vahdat Township and the Romit jamoat, which is subordinate to Vahdat, where mudflows and landslides damaged certain sections of the roads. Engineering equipment has been deployed to eliminate the damage. Specialists cleared the roads to the settlements of Sayyod, Khilmags, Yos, and Poyonob, after which traffic for vehicles and citizens was fully restored. Work has also been carried out to clear irrigation channels and restore damaged power lines.
In Panjakent, in the Sughd province, large-scale recovery efforts continue after the mudflows. In the settlements of Gusar, Navobod, Zavron, and Khushdara, thousands of meters of mudflow passages have been cleared. Ten units of special equipment have been involved in restoring the irrigation canals Marghedor, Marghedor-3, and Tukhson-Korez.
In addition, traffic on the Panjakent – Ayni road and electricity supply to the affected settlements have been fully restored.
In Kulob, work continues to strengthen protective structures and eliminate the consequences of the disaster. Humanitarian aid has been provided to affected families, including clothing, footwear, and essential items.
In Dushanbe, rescuers promptly addressed the consequences of the strong winds. According to the Emergencies Committee, three large trees fell on a residential building; however, thanks to the timely actions of specialists, potential negative consequences for residents were

The Emergencies Committee urged citizens to observe safety measures during adverse weather conditions, to avoid being near rivers, canals, mudflow passages, and other potentially dangerous areas. Special attention is recommended for the safety of children and not leaving them unattended near water bodies and irrigation channels.
