In January–April 2026, the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan valued at $284.3 million, according to Uzbekistan’s National Committee for Statistics .
Compared to the same period in 2025, the figure reportedly increased by $95.6 million, or approximately 50.7%. Over the first four months of last year, the bilateral trade between the two countries valued at $188.7 million.
Against the backdrop of Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade turnover of $26.3 billion, the share of Tajikistan remains relatively small — about 1.1%. However, the dynamics indicate a noticeable acceleration in trade following a decline recorded in 2025.

In March this year, during the state visit of Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon to Uzbekistan, the parties declared their intention to increase the bilateral trade to $2 billion.
According to the Uzbek president’s press service, the governments of the two countries have been instructed to take practical measures to achieve this target based on a separate program.
The main supplies from Uzbekistan to Tajikistan consist of natural gas, petroleum products, electricity, fertilizers, metal products, construction materials, and household appliances.
In turn, Tajikistan’s exports to Uzbekistan primarily include zinc and copper ores and concentrates, electricity, coal, aluminum profiles, cotton fiber, and certain types of agricultural products.
