The Cultural Festival Korea – Tajikistan will take place in Dushanbe on June 17–18, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tajikistan.
As reported to “Asia-Plus” by the Korean diplomatic mission, the event will be held at the 800th anniversary of Moscow square in front of the S. Ayni Opera and Ballet Theater.
The festival is timed to coincide with the upcoming first “Republic of Korea + Central Asia” Summit and the “Republic of Korea and Republic of Tajikistan” Summit, which will take place in Seoul in September.
According to the program, on June 17 at 18:30, after the opening ceremony, the final of the K-Pop contest will take place. Young participants from Tajikistan will present dance and vocal performances to popular Korean songs.
The winner of the contest will be able to apply for participation in the global qualifying round of the international K-Pop World Festival in South Korea.
On June 18 at 18:30, a joint concert of Korean and Tajik artists will be held. The Korean delegation will include both modern idols and masters of traditional vocal art, as well as a samulnori ensemble (a traditional performance on national percussion instruments).
In addition, on June 17 and 18 from 14:00 to 18:00, thematic pavilions and interactive areas will be open. Visitors can expect traditional Korean games, information about tourism opportunities in South Korea, films and series, K-Pop, K-Beauty, as well as dishes from Korean cuisine.
And on June 20 at 18:30, a concert of Korean culture will be held for the first time in Khujand. The organizers note that it will be the first such event in the city.
