DUSHANBE, October 13, 2009, Asia-Plus  — In January-September 2009, an overall space of some 473,000 square meters in residential buildings has been made available in Tajikistan, which is more than 81,000 square meters more than in the same period of last year, the head of the Agency for Construction and Architecture (Agency) Abduvali Komilov announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on October 13.

According to him, current price of one square meter in apartment building in the center of Dushanbe fluctuates from US$750 to US$850, while the price of one square meter in a half-finished residential building fluctuates from U$450 to US$520.

In Khujand, the capital of the northern Sughd province, current price of one square meter in a new apartment building in the center of the city is US$450, Komilov said.

He added that no one square meter in residential buildings has been made available in the cities of Qurghon Teppa and Kulob over the report period.

The Agency head said that several school buildings to accommodate totaling more than 15,000 pupils have been put into operation in the country over the same nine-month period.  Besides, a number of medical facilities have been put into operation in Tajikistan over the report period.
