DUSHANBE, September 23, 2009, Asia-Plus — A drug cache containing a large amount of various narcotics has been discovered in Khatlon’s Shuroobod district, according to the press service of the Drug Control (DCA).
A special operation carried out by counternarcotics officers in Shuroobod yesterday led to the discovery of the drug cache near the highway Dushanbe-Kulob-Darvoz. Packages containing more than 92 kilograms of various narcotics, including cannabis, raw opium, hashish and morphine, were extracted from the hide, the press service said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
