TJS exchange rate still remains stable

DUSHANBE, August 26, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The exchange rate of Tajik national currency, the somoni (TJS), against the U.S. dollar, Russian ruble (RR) and euro still remains stable, according to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

An average exchange rate of USD against TJS at the currency exchange offices in Dushanbe and other regions of the country is now 1:4.43-4.45.

The exchange rates of RR and € have also not changed to this date, being 10:1.38-1.39 for RR and 1:6.26-6.31 for €.

The source added that current supply and demand for the somoni and foreign currencies was practically the same.

In the meantime, official exchange rates set by Tajik central banks for foreign currencies yesterday was 1:4.4113 for USD, 10:1.4053 for RR and 1:6.2876 for €.
