DUSHANBE, June 22, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Saturday June 2, President Emomali Rahmon signed a decree raising monthly wages in public sector.

By president’s decree monthly wages of employees of the sectors of social protection, health care and culture are to be raised by 30 percent beginning on July 1, 2009, and current base wages rates for the staff of the education and science sectors will be raised by 15 percent beginning on September 1, 2009.

The decree orders the government to bring all its resolutions and decision into compliance with the issued decree as well as earmark funds in the budget for 2009 to ensure implementation of this decree.
