Tajikistan imports more than 44,000 tons of mineral fertilizers this year

DUSHANBE, June 11, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan has imported more than 44,000 tons of mineral fertilizers to this date, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).

A totaled included 36,500 tons of nitrogen fertilizers, some 5,000 tons of phosphoric fertilizers, and more than 2,700 tons of potash fertilizers.

The imported fertilizers have been distributed to Khatlon (11,781 tons) and Sughd (14,500 tons) provinces as well as districts subordinate to the center (some 18,000 tons).

Besides, more than 13,500 tons diesel fuel and 598 tons of gasoline have been supplied to the country for the agricultural work since the beginning of this year.  Fuels have also been distributed to Khatlon (8,819 tons of diesel fuel and 227 tons of gasoline) and Sughd (3,179 tons of diesel fuel and 161 tons of gasoline) provinces as well as districts subordinate to the center (some 1,500 tons diesel fuel), the source at MoA said.
