DUSHANBE, May 30, 2009, Asia-Plus — A Tajik-Turkish business forum was held in Dushanbe on Friday, May 28. More than 100 Turkish entrepreneurs arrived in Dushanbe to attend to forum.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the first deputy head of the State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), Abdugaffor Qahhorov, said that arrival of such a dignified delegation of Turkish entrepreneurs in the country was evidence of serious intentions of entrepreneurs of Turkey and it was very important for cooperation between the two countries.
According to him, a number of Tajik entrepreneurs expressed readiness to cooperation with Turkish businesspeople.
In the meantime, Mr. Ali Sarikaya, director general of Turkey’s Ozcankiri Box and Packaging Industry Co noted that he and many other Turkish entrepreneurs participating at the forum visited Tajikistan for the first time. “The main purpose of the visit is for me to get acquainted with Tajik market and seek new partners,” said Sarikaya, “Our company processes more than 200,000 of raw materials and produces up to 800,000 packages per day.” He added that all their out was realized in Europe.
Another Turkish entrepreneur, Mehmet Ak, director general of the firm Beyaza-Beyaz, the owner of Rocco&Co shops network and clothing factory in Turkey, told Asia-Plus that his firm had concluded contracts with a number of shops in Dushanbe on delivery of ladies’ wear and cloth for sewing ladies’ wear to Tajikistan. “We plan to open clothing factory in Tajikistan in the future,” Mehmet Ak said.
