On April 30 and May 1, local mudflow events are possible in the foothill and mountainous areas of districts subordinate to the center (RRP) and in certain areas of the Khatlon province.

According to the Agency for Hydrometeorology (Hydromet), a deterioration in air quality is expected on May 1 and 2 due to a dust storm and haze coming from the southwest and northwest in the southern and central areas of Khatlon, in some districts subordinate to the center, and in the city of Dushanbe.

On May 2 and 3, a deterioration in air quality due to dust is expected in the eastern part of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, or GBAO. An increase in air pollution levels is expected with suspended particles (dust, PM-10, and PM-2.5).

Citizens are advised to take precautions to prevent harmful health effects.

It should be noted that in May temperature fluctuations are expected throughout the month in Tajikistan. In the valley areas, nighttime temperatures will range from +15°C to +22°C, and daytime temperatures from +27°C to +38°C. In some southern areas, temperatures may reach +40°C — +42°C on certain days. In the foothill areas, nighttime temperatures will be +11°C — +19°C, and daytime temperatures will range from +20°C to +33°C.

The monthly amount of precipitation is expected to be below normal in some areas: in the valleys of central subordination (normal is 54-73 mm), in the Khatlon province (14-58 mm), and in the foothill areas (98-135 mm).

It is also worth noting that throughout the month, there will be variable cloudiness, occasional rains of varying intensity, with possible hail, thunderstorms, and dusty haze in some places. The western wind is expected to strengthen to 17-22 m/s.
