The Russian government has extended the duration of temporary stay in Russia for professional drivers from the CIS countries and Georgia from the current 90 days to 180 days. The relevant decree was published on the official legal information portal.

The innovation concerns drivers engaged in international road transport and arriving in Russia without a visa.

They are allowed a total stay of up to 180 days within one calendar year, provided that a corresponding application is submitted.

The decree will come into legal force on June 30 of this year.

Let us recall that Russia is one of the main trading partners of Tajikistan.

According to the Tajik statistical agency, trade turnover between the two countries in the first quarter of this year exceeded $641 million.

This accounts for almost 24% of Tajikistan’s total foreign trade turnover for the first three months of the current year.
