The source at a MoI told Asia-Plus today that two persons, including local resident Ajik Qayumov and Afghan national Abdulahmad valadi Mahmadsang, were detained near the border village of Samonchi in Farkhor on May 17 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking. Some 36 kilograms of raw opium were confiscated from them. “Police officers fired when Qayumov tried to flee. He was wounded in the leg,” the source said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the drug traffickers and an investigation is under way.
