DUSHANBE, May 8, 2008, Asia-Plus — Ceremonial meeting and concert dedicated to the Victory Day that were supposed to be held at the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Dushanbe today will be held tomorrow at the headquarters of Russian military base in Dushanbe.
The events are organized by the Russian embassy in Dushanbe, the command and the council of war veterans of Russian military base in Tajikistan.
Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Yuri Popov, Tajikistan’s Deputy Defense Minister Ramil Nadyrov, Commander of Russian Military Base Aleksey Zavizyon, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of Russian Military Base Boris Gerdel and Vice-President of the Development Foundation “Institute for Eurasian Studies” Aleksandr Gerr will congratulate veterans of war and labor.
In the meantime, Tajik representative office of the Institute for Eurasian Studies said a photo exhibition dedicated to the Victory Day was opened in the public garden near the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Dushanbe today. The exhibition runs through May 28.
On May 9, volunteers from the Dushanbe Youth Center will carry out a large-scale action on handing out the St. George ribbons symbolizing the combat feat of World War II veterans to citizens in Dushanbe.
