KULOB, May 6, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Kulob mayor”s office has allocated funds from local budget to provide extraordinary grants to war veterans and home front workers living in the city and the district of Kulob.

According to the Kulob finance department head Bakhtiyor Nazarov, 10,600 somoni have been allocated from the local budget to provide extraordinary grants of 100 somoni to the veterans.

106 war veterans and home front workers currently live in the city and the districts of Kulob and today, they received an extraordinary grant 350 somoni each.  These funds were provided from presidential reserve fund.  The grants provided from the local budget will be given to them on May 9.

In the meantime, chairman of the Hamadoni district Khojamurod Fazliddinov told Asia-Plus today that they will provide extraordinary grants of 50 somoni to 83 war veterans living in Dushanbe in addition to extraordinary grants of 350 somoni allocated from presidential reserve funds.

In all, some 700 ware veterans currently live in Khatlon’s Kulob region.
