DUSHANBE, March 19, 2011, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon is being held a traditional meeting with representatives of the intelligentsia on occasion of the Navrouz holiday in Dushanbe today.

The meeting that is being held at the Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Sadriddin Ayni in Dushanbe has reportedly brought together members of government, local authorities, known Tajik researchers and cultural figures as well representatives of the intelligentsia from all regions of the country.

The source at the government says the details of president’s address to the intelligentsia will become known on completion of the meeting.

Usually, during the meeting with the intelligentsia to mark Navrouz, the president delivers a statement about the social and economic situation in the country, the role of intelligentsia in fostering education and enlightenment in society as well developing science and culture in Tajikistan.

We will recall that the previous meeting of President Rahmon with representatives of Tajik intelligentsia took place on the eve of the Navrouz holiday in 2009.
