KULOB, March 19, 2011, Asia-Plus  — The branch of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) in Kulob has helped local vulnerable people on occasion of the Navrouz holiday.

NBT’s branch in Kulob has purchased 5,000 somoni worth of food products for the most vulnerable residents of the city.

Head of the Kulob municipal social service Davlatsho Sharofuddinov told Asia-Plus that the food products were distributed to 30 most vulnerable residents of Kulob on March 19.  “The beneficiaries included elderly people who don’t have relative to support and people with disabilities,” he said.

According to him, central bank’s branch in Kulob provides regular assistance to the municipal social service, allocating 5,000 somoni at least four times per year for these purposes.

The Kulob municipal social service takes care of more than 230 elderly people and disabled people who do not have relatives to support mainly due to donations made by organizations and individual persons.
