DUSHANBE, April 5, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has congratulated Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev on his election to a new five-year term.

According to the Tajik presidential press service, Emomali Rahmon yesterday phoned Nursultan Nazarbayev and offered his cordial congratulations on the incumbent’s landslide victory in an early presidential election.

The sides also discussed the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and CIS summits that would take place in Astana and Dushanbe this year.

Today, President Rahmon sent a telegram of congratulations to Nursultan Nazarbayev over his re-election as President of Kazakhstan.
