DUSHANBE, January 15, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Ministry of Education (MoE) intends to close university correspondence courses this year

According to education Minister Abdijabbor Rahmonov, correspondence courses will remain only at teachers’ training institutes and on specialties, in which the country has needs.

In academic year 2008-2009, 28,715 people entered higher educational institutions in the country; of them, 5,876 are correspondence students.
