DUSHANBE, June 3, 2011, Asia-Plus — Mr. Asith Bhattacharjee, Ambassador of India to Tajikistan, and Mr. Abdujabbor Rahmonov, Minster of Education of Tajikistan, inaugurated the “Indo–Tajikistan Modern Engineering Workshop” at the M. S. Osimi Tajik State Technical University in Dushanbe on June 2, the Embassy of India in Dushanbe reports.
Mr. H. Faqerov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mr. F. Rahimov, Deputy Minister of Education, Rectors of various Universities, representatives from various Ministries and Departments were also present during the event. The workshop was set up through Government of India’s grant of around US $ 1 million. A Memorandum of Understanding in this regard was signed on 25th January 2010 in Dushanbe. The Indian company, HMT (International) Ltd. implemented the project.
The project included supply of machines and equipment and its installation and training of Tajik specialists in India and in Dushanbe for acquiring knowledge in the use of the machines and equipment. The Modern Engineering Workshop with modern computer controlled machines and equipment will improve the effectiveness of practical teaching and training. The workshop will produce well trained engineers and technicians in Tajikistan.
