Tahmina Niyozova represents Tajikistan in Vitebsk-2011 song contest

DUSHANBE, July 8, 2011, Asia-Plus — Known Tajik variety singer Tahmina Niyozova represents Tajikistan in the Vitebsk-2011 song contest that is held in Vitebsk, Belarus on the sidelines of the 20th International festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar” (Slavonic Bazaar).

According to Belarusian news agency, BelTA, the Vitebs-2011 song festival will be officially opened on July 11.

BelTA reports 20 singers from 20 countries are participating in the contest.

We will recall Tahmina Niyozova, 22, was awarded a grand prize of the “Five Stars: Intervision” contest that was held in Sochi, Russia on August 28-30.  It is the fourth “Five Stars: Intervision” organized by Russia’s TV Channel One.  Representatives of eleven countries, including Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine participated in the contest.  Each country sent one delegate and the winner of the competition was announced via short SMS voting.  Based on the results of the SMS voting, the jury awarded the grand prize to Tahmina Niyozova.
