DUSHANBE, July 30, 2011, Asia-Plus  — A government session, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, took place on July 29.

According to the presidential press service, Minister of Education Abdujabbor Rahmonov reported on the process of implementation of the national upbringing concept that was adopted on March 3, 2006.

The head of state ordered the Ministry of Education to work out the national program of upbringing of the rising generation until January 2012 and submit it for consideration to the government.

Minister of Agriculture Qosim Qosimov reported on the process of implementation of the national agrarian policy adopted on December 31, 2008.  The minister noted that a number of national programs have been implemented to ensure an efficient implementation of the national agrarian policy.

By government’s decree the Council for Food Security was established.  The council members include heads of relevant ministries and agencies and it will be headed by Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov.

The meeting also endorsed a number of draft laws and submitted them for consideration to the lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of the parliament.
