DUSHANBE, October 13, 2011, Asia-Plus  — At least six persons sustained various injuries on October 12 as two vehicles collided on the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak highway.

According to the Interior Ministry traffic police directorate, the accident took place in Varzob district yesterday afternoon.

“Abduhofiz Sanginov, 34, apparently failed to control his Musso and crashed it into the heavy truck KamAZ,” said the source, “As a result of the collision, the Musso driver and his five passengers, including a 16-year-old teenager, sustained various injuries and were taken to the Varzob central district hospital.”

Over the first nine months of this year, 1,055 traffic accidents have been reported in Tajikistan, which is 146 cases fewer than in the same period last year.  323 persons have been killed and 1,197 others have been injured in those 1.055 accidents.
