DUSHANBE, December 4, 2008, Asia-Plus — The demand of Tajik labor migrants working in Yekaterinburg to pay overdue salaries is expected to be fulfilled in two-three days, Rajabali Hasanov, acting chief of the representative office of the Tajik Interior Ministry migration service in Russia, told Asia-Plus by phone today.
“According to information we received, the prosecutor”s office in Yekaterinburg”s Lenin district yesterday instituted administrative proceedings against Russia’s limited liability company Alpha-Story,” said Hasanov, “The case has already moved to the State Labor Inspectorate, which may fine the company or suspend its activity for 90 days.”
We will recall that some 250 Tajik builders began the strike in late November to demand overdue salaries for the last three months in an amount of totaling 11 million Russian rubles.
