DUSHANBE, March 29, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Police officers have reportedly seized a large amount of hashish in Dushanbe.

According to the Interior Ministry press center, Afghan national Said Mohammad Ghaniboy was arrested in Dushanbe on March 28 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.  “A package of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing 23.9 kilograms and Makarov pistol were confiscated from him,” the source said.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug pusher and an investigation is under way.
