ISFARA, November 29, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Kyrgyz border guard has wounded two Tajik teenagers from Isfara’s jamoat of Vorukh (Tajik exclave in the territory of Kyrgyzstan).

According to the Isfara law enforcement authorities, the incident took place on November 25.

“Six teenagers from the village of Tojikon in the Vorukh jamoat were gathering firewood in the area of Sholidavron, not far from their village when three Kyrgyz border guards drove up to them and ordered to come up to them,” said the source, “When the teenagers came up at the distance of some 10-15 meters, one of the border guards swearing dirtily fired at them.”

As a result, two 17-year-old boys Kholisjon Kholiqozoda and Bois Salimzoda were wounded in the necks.  Other boys took them to the village, where  they were given the first aid and after that, they were taken to the central district hospital in Isfara.

The Khujand military prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings to investigate into the incident, involving servicemen from the Kyrgyz border unit 2022.
