Dushanbe mayor sacks Dushanbe water supply project coordination unit director

DUSHANBE, June 24, Asia-Plus — Jamshed Laqayev has been relieved of his post of director of the unit for coordination of the Dushanbe water supply project.  

Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev announced s resolution on this subject at the sixth session of the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis) that was held on June 23. 

Members of the Dushanbe legislature discussed a report by Jamshed Laqayev, director of the unit for coordination of the Dushanbe water supply project, on a progress of work to enhance the provision of the city population with safe drinking water.  

             Ubaidulloyev also demanded at the meeting that all water consumers in the Tajik capital should be provided with water meters by the end of 2007.  

Besides, the powers of the Dushanbe legislature member Pulod Muhiddinov and Oleg Qodirov terminated ahead of schedule in connection with transfer of them to jobs in the executive organs of power.  The session appointed a day for elections in constituencies ## 47 and 57.
