DUSHANBE, July 17, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Companies from the Czech Republic have reportedly expressed readiness to participate in investment projects in Tajikistan.

On Monday July 16, the State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest) signed here a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with four Czech companies, namely Finarpa a.s., PSP engineering, Tester CR s.r.o., and CKD Blansko Engineering.

The document is aimed to promote further expansion of mutually beneficial economic and investment cooperation between Tajik and Czech companies, a source at GosKomInvest.

The document reportedly stipulates an active cooperation between the sides for attracting investments and launching credit lines for implementing investment projects in sectors like industry and energy, including construction of cement plants and hydroelectric power plants in Tajikistan.

The sides also noted that they would take joint efforts to develop the necessary investment projects that would be submitted for consideration to the Government of Tajikistan and Finarpa a.s., which would finance the mentioned investment projects, the source said.
