, July 17, Asia-Plus — Six residential buildings in the villages of Surkhob and Chubet in the Khurmi jamoat of the Tajik northern district of Panjakent are threatened by flooding as waters level increased in the Zarafshon last Friday, according to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
The MES source says residents of those houses have been evacuated to safe places. “They are currently staying with their relatives,” the source said. .

has been caused by intensive thawing of glaciers,” noted the Asia-Plus interlocutor, “The Panjakent local authorities has sent three tractors and more than a ton fuels to the Khurmi jamoat and employees from the Sughd emergency services are currently working in the site to close monitor the situation.”
